Every summer, Upper Sand Mountain Parish heats up the certified kitchen and canning room in preparation of our canning season. Mission teams from as far away as Indiana and as nearby as Birmingham, AL volunteer for a week and help wherever needed while here on Sand Mountain, AL. We always willing to have volunteers help with our canning process. We often have groups of children who have never been involved with fresh produce or the canning process. They are all watched and led by our skilled team who has been doing this for many years.

# Produce is brought back to the Better Way Cannery to be washed and prepared.

Green tomatoes are from Dotham Farm, AL or Jay's Garden Variety, AL.
The Green Tomato products use green tomatoes for the base of the product which acts as a thickener, but takes on the flavor of whatever fruit it is cooked with. Therefore, the Green Tomato Blackberry Jam tastes just like delicious blackberries with the added nutrients of tomatoes!
